Laird appoints new non-exec director

Kjersti Wiklund has been appointed as non executive director of Laird PLC, the technology group said in a statement on Monday.

Wiklund, who will step into her new role on 1 July, is currently director of group technology operations of Vodafone and has previously covered a number of executive roles at technology and telecoms firms worldwide, including VimpelCom Russia and Malaysia's Digi Telecommunications.

"Kjersti has senior experience in telecoms and global operations where she has managed significant change in challenging business environments," said group chairman Martin Read.

"Her background in the application of technology in one of Laird's core markets strengthens the company's strategic capability."

Meanwhile, the FTSE 250 group also announced that, on 30 June, Michael Kelly will retire as a non-executive director after nine years in the role.

Laird shares were down 1.45% to 374.60p at 10:19 on Monday.
