Kier names former Keller CEO as new non-exec director

Justin Atkinson has been appointed as non-executive director of Kier Group, the residential and construction group confirmed on Thursday.

Atkinson, who will step into his new role on 1 October, was chief executive of Keller from April 2004 until May this year when he retired and had previously covered the role of finance director and chief operating officer.

In a short statement, Kier said Atkinson will be a member of the company’s risk management and audit committee, as well as remuneration , safety, health and environment committee.

“In over a decade as chief executive of Keller, Justin managed the delivery of significant growth in the business,” said group chairman Phil White.

“In addition, his in depth knowledge of the construction sector, both in the UK and internationally, will complement the skills and experience of our other non-executive directors.”

Kier shares were up 0.07% to 1,435.00p at 1304 BST on Thursday.
