Intertek has appointed André Lacroix as chief executive to replace Wolfhart Hauser, who will retire after a decade at the helm of the product testing group.

Lacroix, ex chief of Euro Disney and president of Burger King International, is scheduled to join the FTE 100 company on 16 May 2015 after close to a decade in charge of automotive dealership company Inchape, which is currently listed on the FTSE 250.

Intertek chairman Sir David Reid said: "André will bring an impressive combination of experience to our business, having led multinational corporations across a diverse range of industries most recently with Inchcape over the past nine years.

"He has consistently succeeded in driving growth and performance in his career and has the right qualities to lead Intertek in its next phase of growth."

He thanked Hauser for his leadership, having guided Intertek from a medium-sized group of separate testing businesses "into a large integrated global organisation with a successful strategy that has delivered impressive growth over ten years."

Lacroix is currently the senior independent director of Reckitt Benckiser and chairman of Good Restaurants AG.
