International Public Partnerships consortium wins bid for Dudgeon wind farm link
Ofgem appointed a consortium of International Public Partnerships and Transmission Capital Partners as the preferred bidder to own the offshore transmission link to the Dudgeon wind farm offshore Norfolk.
On Friday the energy regulator said the Transmission Capital Partners consortium was its preferred bidder to own and operate the high-voltage transmission link for the next 20 years.
The consortium had taken part in a tender process against other bidders to become the Offshore Transmission Owner for the Dudgeon wind farm, which is the first project to reach this stage in Ofgem's fifth tender round for offshore transmission links.
Dudgeon wind farm is located off the coast of Cromer, Norfolk and has a capacity of 402MW, which will power close to 410,000 UK homes. The wind farm has until now been owned by a consortium of Masdar, Statoil and Statkraft.
The developer’s estimated value of the transmission assets is £377.2m.
