Residential landlord Grainger has appointed Michelle Boothroyd as its chief people officer.

Boothroyd was previously people director at Nationwide, where she was responsible for delivery of the building society’s strategic people and cultural transformation agenda. Prior to that, she held senior HR roles at Santander and RBS.

Grainger said Boothroyd will support the company’s "ambitious growth plans as the UK's leading residential landlord".

Chief executive Helen Gordon said: "We are delighted to welcome Michelle to Grainger. Her energy and experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow and build on our core value of 'People at the heart'.

"Our aim of being a top employer, welcoming to talent from all backgrounds, delivering great homes and a great experience to tens of thousands of residents, will benefit from Michelle's expertise."
