Former J Sainsbury boss Justin King has joined processing firm 2 Sisters as an adviser.

The part-time role at 2 Sisters marks his first position since leaving Sainsbury.

A 2 Sisters spokesman said: “Justin knows our business well from his time at Marks & Spencer and more recently at Sainsbury’s, and we look forward to working with him and drawing from his considerable knowledge and expertise.”

2 Sisters is a major supplier to British supermarkets and owns Fox’s biscuits, pizza brand Goodfella’s and Holland’s Pies.

The food group is one of two chicken processors embroiled in allegations of poor hygiene. An investigation by the Guardian revealed breakdowns in machinery led to feathers, guts and offal piling up.

King stepped down from Sainsbury last year when he handed over to Mike Coupe.
