Euromoney appoints Leslie Van de Walle as chairman

Business information and events group Euromoney Institutional Investor has appointed Leslie Van de Walle as non-executive chairman with effect from 1 March.

The company said Van de Walle has considerable board experience, having been chairman of recruiter Robert Walters and SIG and held non-executive director roles at a number of public companies including Aviva and Aegis Group.

His is currently deputy chairman and chair of the nomination committee at housebuilder Crest Nicholson, senior independent director and chair of the remuneration committee of DCC and a non-executive director of HSBC UK Bank.

He was group CEO at consumer packaging company Rexam and before that at United Biscuits. He also held a variety of senior roles, including executive vice president of retail for oil products and head of oil products at Shell Europe.

Euromoney's acting chairman David Pritchard will retire from the board on 28 February.

Chief executive officer Andrew Rashbass said: "I look forward to working with Leslie and the rest of the board to continue developing Euromoney. I would like to thank David for his advice and guidance as chairman over the past 15 months and for his immense contribution to the company as a long-standing non-executive director and chair of the audit committee."
