EasyJet passenger numbers rise in June

Budget airline easyJet said on Monday that it carried 6.56m passengers in June of this year, nearly 8% more than in the same month last year.

The load factor, which measures how full the plane is, was 92.7%, up just a touch from 92%.

In the rolling 12 months ending June 2015, the airline carried 67.11m passengers, up 5.9% from 63.37m, while the load factor was 91.2% versus 90.1% for the 12 months ending June 2014.

EasyJet added that there were 487 cancellations in June compared to 380 last year..
