The British technology company Dyson said it is suing Max Conze, its former chief executive, who stepped down in October, for allegedly spilling company secrets and misusing company resources.

Mr Conze had denied the allegations, declaring that it would cause an "unnecessary distraction" for Dyson staff.

Conze left the role, having been appointed in 2011 following a stint running Dyson's US business.

A spokesman for the company said: "The Dyson board has decided to bring a claim against Max Conze at the High Court of Justice in London in relation to his actions while chief executive."
