Domino's Pizza Group served up yet another tasty set of numbers on Thursday, driven by a strong UK performance thanks to improved economic conditions, continued emphasis on meal deal promotions and more customers ordering online.

For the 12 weeks ended 28 September, UK like-for-like (LFL) sales rose 12.9%, while system sales jumped 17.6% from £140.9m to £165.7m.

In the period, online orders represented 70.9% of delivered sales compared to 62.4% a year earlier.

In the Republic of Ireland, system sales rose 5.3% to €12.2m, while LFL growth climbed to 5.3%, reflecting its strongest quarter in the year so far.

Domino's said the transformation of its business in Germany was continuing, while in Switzerland the quarter was described as "excellent", with the region expected to report a profit in the next quarter.

Chief executive officer David Wild said: "We are delighted with the like-for-like performance in our core UK business and remain on track for our targeted new store opening programme. We are building on our success on-line with the roll-out of our new website and a series of enhancements to continue to make it easy for our customers to order Domino's.

"Progress in Germany is slower than we would have liked, but we are committed to the execution of our strategy. Our performance in Switzerland is encouraging.

"We face more challenging comparatives for the final quarter, but we remain confident of a satisfactory outcome for the year and are planning to build on this success in 2015."
