Senior announced on Thursday that its group finance director, Derek Harding, will be leaving the company to become group finance director of digital retailer Shop Direct.

The FTSE 250 firm said the process to recruit and select his replacement will commence immediately, and Harding will remain in post until his successor is appointed, which the board expects to be later this year.

“I would like to thank Derek for his significant contribution to Senior over the past four years and the board wishes him every success in his new role,” said group chief executive David Squires.

“While we are disappointed that he is leaving, we will ensure that a suitably high calibre successor is appointed and that a smooth transition takes place.”

Derek Harding himself said he enjoyed his time at Senior “immensely” and is “proud to have played a part” in the ongoing development of the business.

“I leave the group to take the next step in my career, and I wish David, and everyone else at Senior all the best for the future.”
