Capita chairman Powell to stand down

Government outsourcer Capita said chairman Ian Powell had decided to step down and would be replaced by senior independent director David Lowden.

Powell told the board he would not seek re-election at the company’s annual general meeting on May 10 after five years in the role.

Lowden became joined the board of Capita in January 2021. He was formerly chief executive of Taylor Nelson Sofres and chairman of Huntsworth. He is currently chairman of Diploma, senior independent director of Morgan Sindall and, until April 30 2022, chairman of PageGroup.
