Bunzl to buy businesses in France, Denmark

International distribution and outsourcing group Bunzl said it had had entered into agreements to buy two businesses in France and Denmark for an undisclosed sum.

The company said it had agreed to buy Prorisk and GM Equipement, which are based near Lyon and in Vannes respectively and mainly engaged in the sale of a variety of personal protection equipment and first aid related products to both end users and distributors throughout France.

The aggregate revenue of the businesses in the year ended 31 December 2015 was €7m (£6m). Completion of the acquisition is expected to take place by the end of January 2017.

Sæbe Compagniet, based near Copenhagen, is a distributor of cleaning & hygiene-related products to a variety of end user customers in the hotel, restaurant and catering sectors.

Revenue in the year ended 30 April 2016 was DKK113 million (£13m). Completion of the acquisition is subject to clearance of the transaction by the Danish competition authority.
