Britvic revenues rise 4.5% in first quarter

Britvic posted a rise in first-quarter revenues on Thursday as it said trading during the period was in line with the FTSE 250 soft drinks company's expectations.

In a very brief trading update for the quarter to 23 December 2018, the group said revenue rose 4.5% to £352.4m, while organic constant currency revenue, excluding the soft drink levies, was up 1.5% to £337.3m.

Chief executive Simon Litherland said: "We have delivered a solid start to the new financial year, with performance in line with our expectations. Given the resilience of our business, the strength of our portfolio and exciting marketing and innovation plans, we are confident of making further progress in 2019."

At 1005 GMT, the shares were up 0.2% to 879.37p.
