Berkeley Group's finance director leaves with immediate effect

Berkeley Group's finance director (FD), Nick Simpkin, has left the board with immediate effect.

While searching for his replacement, the property development group said its financial controller, Ben Marks, and its managing director, Rob Perrins, will manage its financial function.

In a brief statement, the FTSE 250-listed group added that the board wished Simpkin "all the best for the future".

Shares declined 2.95% to 2,308p by 13:11.
