Amlin appoints global MD of reinsurance

Amlin has appointed James Few as global managing director of reinsurance, effective 1 August 2015.

Few was formerly the chief executive of Aspen Re where he was responsible for $1.2bn of gross written premium.

The appointment was subject to regulatory approval, Amlin said in an announcement.

Amlin chief underwriting officer Simon Beale said he was delighted to welcome Few to the team.

“I believe his expertise will prove extremely valuable to our reinsurance business as we look to implement our longer term strategic objectives to enhance our offering.”

Shares in Amlin were up 1.13% at 483.5p at 9.24 on Monday.
