Amec Foster Wheeler secures nine-year deal with EDF

Oil and gas facilities constructor Amec Foster Wheeler has won a nine-year contract with energy provider EDF Energy.

Under the deal, Amec will provide project management services to all of EDF’s UK nuclear power stations and technical offices in Gloucester and East Kilbride, near Glasgow.

The FTSE 250 group said that nuclear power stations covered by the agreement are Dungeness in Kent, Sizewell in Suffolk, Hunterston in North Ayrshire, Torness in East Lothian, Heysham 1 and 2 in Lancashire, Hartlepool on Teesside and Hinkley Point in Somerset.

“This framework agreement further reinforces our long-standing relationship with EDF Energy,” said Clive White, president of Amec Foster Wheeler's clean energy business.

Amec shares were up 2.06% to 939.50p at 08:20.
