AA names new non-executive director

Suzi Williams has been appointed as non-executive director of AA, the roadside assistance group confirmed on Tuesday.

Williams, who is currently working as group marketing and brand director for telecom giant BT, will step into her new role on 1 October, FTSE 250-listed AA said in a short statement.

"Brand development is one of our key strategic objectives to transform the AA into a membership club serving a broader range of the UK motorists' needs," said group executive chairman Bob Mackenzie.

"Suzi's extensive experience with consumer-facing companies and brands make her a major asset to the AA Board and Company as we look to revolutionise the brand and build the business around our customers."

AA shares were up 0.45% to 388.62p at 09:00 on Tuesday.
