US pre-open: Wall Street set for slightly lower start

Stocks on Wall Street looked set for a lower start according to pre-market futures.

At 1310 BST, futures tracking the Dow Jones were falling by 200.0 points to 29,550, alongside a 32 point decline for those linked to the S&P 500 to 3,700 and a 137,75 points fall on those for the Nasdaq-100 too 11,418.0.

In parallel, the US dollar spot index was edging up by 0.34% to 112.99, while the yield on the benchmark 10-year US Treasury note was marching higher by eight basis points to 3.824%.

On the economic calendar for Thursday, at 1300 BST the US Department of Labor was scheduled to release weekly jobless claims data.

In parallel, the Department of Commerce was to publish a final reading for the country's gross domestic product during the second quarter.

At 1430 BST, St.Louis Federal Reserve President, James Bullard, would speak at a virtual event on emerging markets.
