Sports Direct buys Frasers department store in Glasgow for £95m

Discount retailer Sports Direct on Friday said it was buying the Frasers department store in Glasgow for £95m.

The company said it intended to continue to operate the property as Frasers and would invest to “further elevate and enhance this iconic department store”.

Sports Direct said it bought the building from Glasgow City Council as administering authority for the Strathclyde Pension Fund.

Completion was scheduled for January 2020, the company said in a statement.
