Away Resorts agrees merger with rival Aria Partners

Away Resorts is set to announce the purchase of rival Aria Resorts in a £600m merger of the country's largest holiday park operators.

According to Sky News's Mark Kleinman, who cited sources, Away, which was recently bought by private equity outfit CVC Capital Partners, had already agreed to the purchase.

Aria operates 14 holiday parks across the UK.

It was but the latest deal in the sector on the back of burgeoning demand for so-called 'staycations' in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Other firms in the same sector, including Park Holidays and Park Leisure, were also expected to put themselves up for sale in the coming months, Kleinman said.
