US economy grows more than expected in Q3

The US economy grew more than initially estimated in the third quarter, according to data released on Wednesday by the Commerce Department.

GDP grew 5.2% in the three months to September, ahead of the initial estimate of 4.9% growth.

The figures showed that consumer spending rose 3.6% from July to September, a downward revision on a previous estimate of 4%.
