UK warned a United Nations (UN) panel of an active Iranian nuclear procurement network linked to two blacklisted firms.

Iran could have attempted to buy uranium enrichment technology amid negotiations with Western powers to lift sanctions in exchange for a restriction of sensitive nuclear work.

"The UK government informed the Panel on 20 April 2015 that it 'is aware of an active Iranian nuclear procurement network which has been associated with Iran's Centrifuge Technology Company (TESA) and Kalay Electric Company (KEC)," the Panel of Experts said in its annual report.

Talks between US, UK, Russia, China, France and Germany and the Islamic Republic continue, after an interim deal at curbing its nuclear programme was reached on April.

A final agreement is expected before the deadline of 30 June.
