Seven nations call on Russia to cease attacks on Syrian opposition

The seven nations which have been fighting to depose Syrian president Bashar al-Assad in Syria have called on Russia to cease its attacks on the country´s opposition.

Air strikes that have killed civilians risk inciting extremism, the US, UK, France, Germany, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey said.

The bombing campaign has “led to civilian casualties and did not target Da’esh” a statement issued by Ankara on Friday morning read.

“We call on the Russian Federation to immediately cease its attacks on the Syrian opposition and civilians and to focus its efforts on fighting ISIL.”
