Fed needs to hike rates more than three times in 2017, Lacker says

The president of the Federal Reserve bank of Richmond said more than three interest rates hikes would be needed in 2017.

"If we get behind it's hard to really calibrate," Jeffrey Lacker reportedly said at a panel discussion on the economic outlook.

Rate-setters in the US faced challenges in trying to gradually cool their country's economy, he added.
