Ubisoft shares rose 2.4% mid-session on Tuesday, after Google said it had partnered with the French video game maker.

Google said on Monday that it would partner with Ubisoft to test its video game streaming service called Project Stream.

The American tech giant's objective was to address issues associated with streaming technology and games such as Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

According to MarketWatch, Ubisoft said: "Streaming holds tremendous potential. Google's Project Stream, the Ubisoft Platform Infrastructure, and the efforts of other companies will help unlock that potential and break down barriers that once prevented many from playing and enjoying our games."

Separately, Catherine Hsiao, Google product manager, said in a blog post: "We're going to push the limits with one of the most demanding applications for streaming – a blockbuster video game."
