Qualcomm filed a lawsuit on Thursday to try and get Apple's iPhones XS and XR banned from China accusing the US company of possible patent infringement.

Qualcomm’s attorney Jiang Hongyi told the Financial Times that Apple violated two of its patents in its latest iPhone models. Apple has denied any and all violation claims.

Qualcomm beat Apple in court earlier this week and got a preliminary ban on some older iPhones.

Apple has so far ignored the sales ban since it claims that it only applies to devices working on iOS 11 operating system and earlier and since now all devices were updated to iOS12 they can still remain on sale.

This is the latest move in the ongoing disagreement between both companies over patents and royalties. They have sued each other and Apple is no longer using Qualcomm chips in its latest iPhones.

Industry experts speculate that the chipmaker wants to put pressure on Apple in the hopes of forcing the iPhone maker into settlement talks.
