Apple was ordered by intellectual-property regulators in Beijing to stop selling its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in the city, alleging its design infringed a patent from a chinese rival, the Wall Street Journal reported.

In a statement published to its website on 19 May, the Beijing Intellectual Property Bureau said those two iPhone models infringed on a patent for exterior design owned by Shenzhen Baili for one of its own models.

According to the WSJ, it was not clear what impact the order might have on Apple given that some stores in Beijing were already selling newer models and the tech-giant was in fact due to end production of both those models soon.
