Las Vegas police launched a homicide investigation into blues legend B.B. King's death after two of his daughters accused his aides of poisoning him.

King died in his sleep on 14 May, after cancelling his tour due to health problems.

His daughters Karen Williams and Patty King alleged their father was poisoned by his business manager Laverne Toney and his personal assistant.

"I believe my father was poisoned and that he was administrated foreign substances to induce his premature death," the daughters said in two separate but identical statements, AFP reported on Monday.

Memorials for King are scheduled later this month in Memphis, Tennessee and Indianola, Mississippi.
