Week ahead: US house price data, euro area money supply in focus
The flow of economic data and company announcements would be very limited, as usual, over the holiday-shortened trading week.
In the US, the market spotlight would be the results of two surveys on house price data for the month of November to be published Tuesday.
Also due out were weekly jobless claims figures on Thursday and the Chicago Purchasing Managers' Index on Friday.
Across the Channel, Tuesday would bring with it a reading for German retail sales in November and euro area money supply figures, also for the month of November, on Thursday.
Readings for portuguese and Spanish consumer prices would in December would be released on Friday.
No major economic releases were awaited in the UK aside from Nationwide's house price index for December on Wednesday.
In Japan, Tuesday would bring with it unemployment data for November, followed by a report covering industrial production during that same month the next day.
