Week ahead: UK CPI, employment data on tap

The flow of economic data was set to pick-up noticeably in the coming week in all the major geographies.

In the UK, the increasingly important consumer price data, for the month of January, were scheduled to be published on Tuesday, alongside the latest figures on factory gate prices, followed by the UK labour market report for the same month.

The latest reading on monthly retail sales in Britain was due at the end of the week, on Friday.

Stateside, Wednesday would bring with it the Commerce Department's tally for retail sales in January, together with that month's CPI report.

To take note of, at least three Fed Speakers were set to take to the podium on Wednesday, including chair Janet Yellen herself.

The next day would see the Philly Fed's key gauge on mid-Atlantic factory sector conditions published.

Meanwhile, data from China would be concentrated towards the start of the week, on Monday and Tuesday, with the release of data on new credit and loans and consumer prices.
