Week ahead: November US jobs report in focus

The US jobs market was set to come back into focus with the release of the November jobs report on Friday.

Although an interest rate hike at the 14 December US Federal Reserve policy meeting was apparently already a foregone conclusion, traders were likely to keep their cards close to their chests of the all-important US non-farm payrollos report referencing the month of November.

Economists were forecasting an increase of 175,000 jobs, with any reading stronger than that potentially holding out the risk of placing even further upwards pressure on global bond yields.

Ahead of that report, on Thursday, markets would be waiting on global manufacturing sector purchasing managers´ data, including from the UK, US and Eurozone.

Prime Minister´s Questions before the House of Commons on Wednesday would also likely be closely scrutinised.

Other key data releases set for release during the week ahead in Britain included the latest home price figures from Nationwide and monthly money supply data for October, on Tuesday.
