Week ahead: Coronavirus and US jobs report in focus
With little doubt, the market spotlight over the coming week - and the next weekend - will continue to be on the new China coronavirus, with investors likely to be especially attuned to any sign that the rate of contagion might be slowing.
Against that backdrop, the focus on Monday will be on global manufacturing, with key surveys for that sector due out in China, the euro area, UK and US.
However, the main regularly-scheduled economic release of the week will be the monthly US non-farm payrolls report on Friday.
To take note of, on Tuesday rate-setters Down Under are scheduled to meet to decide on policy, and what they might have to say about the near-term risks to Chinese growth might make for a particularly interesting read this time around.
Also due out at the end of the week are data on Chinese foreign trade in January.
