Directors dealings: Investec´s finance chief cuts stake

Investec´s finance chief and risk director Glynn Burger sold a big slice of shares in the specialist bank and asset manager which he helps to run.

Burger sold 221,503 shares at an individual price of 504p in Johannesburg on 1 December, for a total consideration of £1,116,375.11, the company said in a statement.

On 17 November, Investec reported first half operating profits of £281m, which were 0.7% ahead of those for the same period of the previous year.

Analysts at Numis described the company´s figures as "good" but pointed out how at 11.1 times its estimates for 2017 earnings the company´s shares were being valued at a "significant premium".

In the same research note they downgraded their recommendation on the stock from 'add' to 'hold'.
