Directors dealings: British American APAC director takes home a pack of shares

British American Tobacco's director for Asia-Pacific took a pack of shares in the company he helps run home with him on 23 June.

Jack Bowles purchased 9,000 shares in the cigarette-maker at 5,485p apiece for a total transaction amount of £54.87436, the company said in a statement.

That followed a small decline in the company's stock price since early June and the company's pre-close trading update for the first six months of the year, which had been issued roughly a week before.

On that occassion, BATS said first half revenue was expected to benefit from "good pricing", with the business performing "very well" and in-line with expectations.

In early May, analysts at Citi had reiterated a 'buy' recommendation and raised its target price to 6,000p.

Analyst Adam Spielman said: "We continue to think BAT is a highly attractive investment, with 4-5% organic sales growth and effectively a free option on heat-not-burn."
