Director dealings: Trainline CEO offloads 800,000 shares

Trainline revealed on Tuesday that chief executive officer Clare Gilmartin had disposed of 800,000 ordinary shares in the FTSE 250-listed rail ticket booking platform operator.

Gilmartin, who took over as CEO at Trainline back in 2014, sold the shares last Thursday at an average price of 400.11p each, for a total value of £3.20m.

Back in May, Trainline pulled 2021 guidance and warned of a significant hit to first-quarter profits due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, in the shorter term Trainline expected the pandemic would usher in a faster shift to digital ticketing as passengers avoided ticket machines or station queues to avoid contracting the Covid-19.

As of 1635 BST, Trainline shares were down 8.13% at 370.80p.
