Director dealings: Taylor Wimpey CEO cuts stake by over half

Taylor Wimpey revealed on Wednesday that chief executive Pete Redfern had sold 2.15m ordinary shares in the FTSE 100-listed housebuilder.

Redfern, who was appointed to the post of chief executive in July 2007, sold the shares on Tuesday at an average price of 174.23p each, for a total value of £3.74m.

The sale was part of regular financial planning designed to manage the size of Taylor Wimpey's director's interest in the builder, the company said in a statement.

Just last week, Taylor Wimpey said it was on track to deliver full-year results in line with expectations, with slightly higher volumes and lower operating margins than previously guided.

As of 1630 GMT, Taylor Wimpey shares were down 1.12% at 172p.
