Director dealings: M&S director ups stake

Marks & Spencer revealed on Thursday that non-executive director Katie Bickerstaffe had acquired 20,000 ordinary shares in the FTSE 250-listed retailer.

Bickerstaffe, who joined the firm back in July 2018, purchased the shares at an average price of 98.79p each, for a total value of £19,758.28.

Marks & Spencer scrapped its dividend in March as it warned on profits and said trading in its clothing, home and international businesses is likely to be "several impacted" by Covid-19 in the next nine to 12 months.

As a result, the company said it would not be possible to provide any meaningful guidance on future earnings.

As of 1630 BST, M&S shares were down 8.80% at 94.08p.
