Director dealings: Incoming Spectris CFO's spouse snaps up shares

The spouse of Spectris' new chief financial officer Derek Harding purchased 4,000 ordinary shares in the FTSE 250-listed measuring devices maker.

Ms Harding picked up the shares at an average price of 2,657.94p each, for a total value of £106,318.

Long-time CFO Clive Watston retired from his role as group finance director after 12 years back in January but decided to stay on with the group until 1 April in order to ensure an orderly handover.

In February, Spectris said full-year pre-tax profits fell 22% to £218m as it warned of moderating sales growth in 2019.

Adjusted pre-tax profits rose to £241.4m from £234.2m, while earnings per share fell to 157.6p from 197p last year. Adjusted operating profit was up to £248.3m from £239.3m a year earlier

As of 1620 GMT, Spectris shares had picked up 1.19% to 2,663p.
