Homeserve revealed on Thursday that senior independent director Stella David had acquired 28,395 ordinary shares in the FTSE 250 listed emergency repairs business.

David, who joined Homeserve's board back in November 2010, purchased the shares on Wednesday at an average price of 1,144.53p each, for a total value of £324,989.30.

Earlier in July, Homeserve said it was selling its 49% shareholding in its Italian associate, Assistenza Casa, to its partner Edison due to "limited opportunities" for customer growth.

Homeserve added that trading had been in line with guidance given in May and that it had continued to expect further strong growth in 2020, with increased investment in its Home Experts unit offset by strong performance in its Membership business, particularly in North America.

As of 1630 BST, Homeserve shares were up 0.38% at 1,140p.
