Director dealings: Gemsstock buys another tranche of Bank of Georgia shares

Gemsstock Limited bought another tranche of Bank of Georgia Group shares on Thursday, taking on another 14,000.

The bank said Gemsstock, of which its independent non-executive director Alasdair Breach is also a director, paid 1,576.86p each for the shares, valuing the transaction at £0.22m.

It was a decent premium to the market value of Bank of Georgia shares, which were down 0.38% at 1,556p as at 1533 GMT.

On the selling side of the ledger, Lord Rothermere sold 610,375 shares in the Daily Mail and General Trust, as his bid to take the publisher private via the Rothermere Continuation vehicle became unconditional.

The company said the shares were sold at 1,041p each, making for a total transaction value of £6.35m.

At the same time, WM Trust - an entity connected to Lord Rothermere - sold 204,221 shares in the company, also at 1,041p, valuing that transaction at £2.13m.

At 1548 GMT, shares in the Daily Mail and General Trust were up 2.62% at 1,059p.
