Director dealings: Ferran fires Diageo to new high

Diageo's chairman designate, Javier Ferran, has splashed out on shares in the Johnnie Walker and Guinness maker, sending the stock price to a new all-time high.

Ferran, the ex boss of Bacardi who also sits on the board of Associated British Food, spent more than £410,000 buying 18,500 shares at a price of 2,221p.

The Spaniard is due to replace Franz Humer as chairman of the distilling and brewing giant in January.

Shares in Diageo hit an all time high of 2,285p intraday on Tuesday, already putting Ferran in the money and up 23% since the start of the year.

Not shooting Blancco

Blancco Technology's executive chairman Matthew Peacock no longer has an equity interest in the company after selling his stake this week.

Peacock's Hanover Investors firm, a turnaround specialist that took control of what was Oxford-based gadget repair group Regenersis in 2011, sold its last 209,728 shares at a price of 225p.

Hanover has made a good profit as shares in Blacco are up 23% since start of 2016 and around 175% since Hanover took control five years ago, with management consultancy fees of the likes of £1.58m paid last year for services provided for corporate finance advice for the two acquisitions and two disposals made.
