Director dealings: Electrocomponents CEO lowers stake

Electrocomponents' chief executive Lindsley Ruth disposed of 50,000 ordinary shares in the FTSE 250 firm.

Ruth, who took the reins at Electrocomponents back in 2015, sold the shares at an average price of 744.66p each, for a total value of £372,331.45.

Back in July, Electrocomponents told investors it had made a strong start to its trading year, with continued double-digit revenue growth and improved profitability.

The FTSE 250-listed group increased like-for-like revenue 10% in the three months to 30 June compared to the same time last year, thanks to good growth in all five of its regions, the fastest of which was the Americas which saw like-for-like revenue accelerate 13% in a strong underlying market.

Digital revenue grew broadly in line with overall performance at 9% during the quarter.

As of 1630 BST, Electrocomponents shares had inched ahead 0.32% to 756.20p
