Director dealings: Dotdigital board sell shares to satisfy institutional demand

Four directors of Dotdigital Group have sold more than £1.6m worth of shares in the company, which they said was to satisfy institutional demand for the tightly held software company's stock.

Co-founder Ian "Tink" Taylor, currently non-executive president of the group and chief operating officer of dotMailer, sold £1.1m worth at 42.29p. He still holds 12.5% of the £125m company.

Chief financial officer Milan Patel, currently standing in as CEO as long-term boss Simone Barratt recovers from surgery in early January, sold £169,000.

Peter Simmonds, previous chief executive officer at Dotdigital for eight years, let go of £254,000, while chairman Frank Beechinor offered up £42,000.

Patel said: "Whilst directors still hold a significant position in dotdigital of over 20%, we are delighted with the investment interest in the company demonstrated by a number of our highly regarded current institutional investors as well as introductions to new funds, which we believe will continue to strengthen our shareholder base over the medium and longer term. This follows on from our recent intensive and extremely positive interim results roadshow."
