Director dealings: Close Brothers CEO lowers stake
Close Brothers revealed on Monday that chief executive Preben Prebensen had sold 150,000 ordinary shares in the FTSE 250-listed merchant banking group.
Prebensen, who took over as chief executive at Close Brothers back in April 2009, disposed of the shares on Friday at an average price of 1,442.87p each, for a total value of £2.16m.
On Thursday, Close Brothers said trading in the first quarter reflected lower activity levels across its markets.
In the banking division, the loan book rose 0.9% to £7.7bn, driven mainly by the commercial segment, while retail and property remained broadly flat.
As of 1610 GMT, Close Brothers shares had picked up 1.81% to 1,462p.
