Wednesday preview: US durable goods orders, BoE's Haldane in focus
Updated : 17:18
Financial markets' focus will shift back towards the UK and US in the middle of the week, although the economic calendar is quite sparse.
In the States, the spotlight will be on durable goods orders data for the month of July, with economists anticipating further strong growth of 4.0% month-on-month as American industry attempts to regain its footing.
On home shores meanwhile, a speech from the Bank of England's chief economist, Andy Haldane, will be the sole reference for investors.
Across the Channel, fresh data are due out for unemployment in Norway and French consumer confidence, referencing the months of June and August, respectively.
Across the globe in Asia, rate-setters in South Korea are due to meet to decide on monetary policy.
