Wednesday preview: FOMC minutes, German industrial production in the spotlight

The focus in financial markets in the middle of the week will shift back towards the US central bank, which is scheduled to release the minutes of its 15-16 June policy meeting.

Though they had since rowed back a little on their 'hawkish' shift, 13 of 18 participants at that Federal Open Market Committee meeting had indicated that inflation risks were tilted to the upside, against only five at the March FOMC.

Also due out is the US Department of Labor's JOLTS labour market survey for May, at 1500 BST.

Across the Channel meanwhile, the focus will be on German industrial production figures, also covering the month of May.

No major economic release are scheduled in the UK.

Across on the other side of the world, the People's Bank of China is due to publish foreign exchange reserves data for June.
