The focus on Tuesday will shift back to Asia, as China's national bureau of statistics releases consumer and factory gate price data for February.

That is of course, coronavirus and financial markets themselves permitting, particularly as regard US credit markets.

No major economic releases are scheduled for Tuesday in the UK or US.

Across the Channel, the spotlight will fall on the latest industrial production numbers out of France and Italy referencing the month of January.

In the corporate space meanwhile, investors will be keeping an eye on full-year 2019 results out of Standard Life Aberdeen.

UBS analyst Michael Werner anticipates the asset manager will post fourth quarter growth Assets under management, excluding insurance AuMs and SLA's assets under administration, of £259bn, for a 1% over the half and a 3% gain year-on-year.

Net ouflows in the second half meanwhile were seen at £5.8bn, half the pace observed during the first six months of the year.

"Focusing on flows, we highlight that (according to Morningstar data) recent fund flows have been encouraging as the pace of outflows seems to have moderated in H2:19 vs H1:19 levels," Werner said.

"That said, we have little visibility into the behaviour of SLA's institutional clients from a flow perspective."
