Peel Hunt boss joins Finsbury Growth board

Finsbury Growth & Income Trust has appointed Peel Hunt’s chief executive to its board, the investment trust said on Monday.

Simon Hayes will join the board as an independent non-executive director, with immediate effect, Finsbury said in an announcement.

Hayes has been at Peel Hunt since 1993 and was appointed chief executive in 2006.

Finsbury chairman Anthony Townsend said: “We are very pleased to have appointed a director with extensive industry and financial expertise and a strong interest in the investment trust sector.”

The appointment will be proposed for shareholders to ratify at the company's annual general meeting in February next year.

Shares in Finsbury had declined by 1.86% to 579,50p at 09:23 on Monday.
