Interior furnishings group Walker Greenbank made interim chief financial officer Michael Williamson's appointment to the role permanent on Wednesday, with immediate effect.

Walker Greenbank praised Lisa Montague, the group's chief executive officer, for strengthening its senior leadership team since she joined the company back in March 2019. The firm said the appointment of Williamson, who initially took on the role on an interim basis back in December 2019, completed Montague's board reshuffle.

Chairman Dianne Thompson said: "I am delighted to welcome Michael Williamson to the permanent role of chief financial officer. His appointment concludes a thorough executive search process during which we were impressed by the high calibre of the applicants for the role.

"Michael has made a very positive contribution since joining the board and we look forward to working with him in the years ahead."

As of 1035 GMT, Walker Greenbank shares were up 1.47% at 82.70p.
